How do you tell your pupils that a book about the Virgin Mary is about paedophilia?
The answer is by telling them it’s about the devil, the devil is the one who has made you do it.
The author of The Perverted Educator (2016) says: “The most obvious thing is that the book is about a perverted educator, a pervert.
This is a perversion of the Catholic Church, of the Holy Father and of all of us.”
The book was originally published in 2006, when the Church was struggling with its paedophile crisis and the media was full of stories of paedophiles in the priesthood.
It was also the subject of the film The Lost Boys (2004), which showed the Catholic clergymen and nuns who had been sexually abused as children.
The new book, which is due to be published in March by John Wiley & Sons, was written by Dr Andrew Wylie, the director of a charity called Help for Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse (HSCA).
The first issue of the book, published in 2009, was entitled “The Perverted Teacher: Why You Should Never Read a Book on the Virgin” and said that the teaching of the Virgin was a “perverted” teaching.
In it, Dr Wylis said that because it is “pervert-oriented”, it would be “a perverted” text for a child to read, and therefore “it is not a teaching which could be taught”.
In a later issue of The Lost Boy, a book by the author, the book of Mary and the Holy Virgin is also discussed, saying that the “Vatican’s position on the teaching that the Virgin is a prostitute is so deeply rooted in the Catholic tradition that it is difficult to understand how such a teaching can be taught in a book on the life and ministry of the Blessed Virgin Mary.”
Dr Wylises claims that the Church is the most perverted in the world and that this perversion has been going on for a long time, and that “if you have a perverting teaching on the Catholic faith, it is because the teaching is perverted.”
What do you think about the book?
Do you think the book could have been called ‘The Devil is the Devil??’?
