Netflix is introducing an educational series called ‘Sex and the City’ to make the case for sexual diversity in the media.
The show, which follows the exploits of the main characters in the film series, features scenes from the show with clips of famous porn scenes, including some featuring women.
The first episode, ‘The First Time’, features a scene from the film where the main character, Carrie Fisher, plays a woman.
It also features scenes where the show characters are sexually harassed, which is shown in a very sexualised way.
The series is available on Netflix, Amazon and iTunes, but the streaming service has not revealed any details about when it will be available on all platforms.
A spokeswoman for Netflix said: “We are introducing ‘Sex & the City Sex’ as a Netflix Original Series in the US and Canada in 2017.”
Netflix is partnering with the University of Texas at Austin to create a series of content for its ‘Creative Communities’ program, which aims to promote the work of local artists and their stories.
